Energy & CO2 Reduction Strategies

Reducing carbon dioxide emissions makes sense whether your motives are climate change, the rising cost of fuel or fuel security concerns. We can identify the energy intensive areas of a building and find the best strategies for reducing emissions. This could be by improving the building fabric, improving mechanical systems (e.g. heating systems) or using renewable energy.

Reducing excess carbon emissions has many benefits. For new buildings, it is about meeting and exceeding legislation, complying with local planning requirements and meeting client expectations. For existing buildings the benefits are the reduced long-term running costs and reducing CO2.

We specialise in the following services:

·         Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) - legally required for all new dwellings

·         Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) - used to generate CO2 emission rates

·         Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's) - legally required before a building can be sold

·         LZN (Low or Zero Carbon) Feasibility Studies - required to achieve credits under Code for Sustainable Homes

·         Energy Statements - often used to support planning applications
